Hike for Youth - Jurassic Coast Virtual Challenge

Hi

I'm taking part in the Hike for Youth - Jurassic Coast Virtual Challenge to support the DofE.  Throughout the month of April I'll be walking 95 miles to help raise money to transform the lives of young people by providing access to The Duke of Edinburgh's Awards to those who would benefit the most.

Please support me by making a donation to my page.

Thank You.

My Updates

Half way there!

Tuesday 16th Apr
It’s going to be a challenge the whole month this - I don’t get to walk every day because of work. I’m lucky enough to be going out again on Friday with a DofE group and will get around 8 miles then, and on Saturday I have planned a longer walk home from Stratford on Avon to Leamington. That should help but I may be a bit worn out on Sunday!

5 walks in

Friday 5th Apr
Wishing this routine could last the whole month - morning Pilates and then a walk with my wife and daughter, and each day we have gone a little bit further.
Luckily it’s easily light enough to go out after work now, and that’ll have to be what we do from Monday.
Out with a DofE group next Friday at the Long Mynd, so that could be a great day for some miles!

Off the mark

Monday 1st Apr
Same loop as yesterday with family this morning, 3.8 miles and we are off. Might walk later too.

One day to go

Sunday 31st Mar
Rose early and walked our usual 5k loop which takes in fields, river and canal path. Still on Easter holidays for another week so we should be able to get a few miles clocked up in that time.

Ready to go

Friday 29th Mar
Just been to the actual Jurassic coast, where we are lucky enough to visit often, and witnessed Storm Nelson battering the cliffs of Charmouth.
Bought my daughter some decent walking boots so she can get out more easily in these still muddy conditions, and she and I have just been out for a 5k circuit near our home in Leamington Spa. April showers are certainly here so I got to test my new storm shelter to keep us dry, and we saw a double rainbow too!
