London Landmarks Half Marathon 2025

I'm taking part in the London Landmarks Half Marathon to support The DofE charity

On Sunday 6th April, I'll be running in the London Landmarks Half Marathon to raise vital funds for The Duke of Edinburgh's Award charity, helping to transform the lives of young people.  For many 14-25 years the DofE is a life-changing experience but many marginalised young people who would benefit the most are most likely to miss out.  I'm supporting the DofE charity so that they can continue to keep opening up this life-changing experince to the young people who would benefit the most.  If you're able to support me by sponsorsing me that would be greatly appreciated and together we can help transform the lives of more young people.  Thank you.

My Updates

Week 4 of training

Saturday 31st Aug
Managed 5 min intervals this week, and fortunately the weather is continuing to be good.

I have invested in some actual running trainers which has made the running feel so much more fun

Lessons learnt:
- music makes running more bearable
- I am capable of running more than I realised
- stretching and warming up really does make a difference

Week 1 of training

Tuesday 13th Aug
my  first week of training is complete! I managed two runs this week, following couch to 5k. This was 60 s running  and 90 s walking intervals. I did 10 sets of this, rather than the perscribed 7 because I am an overachiever!

Lessons learnt:
 - I probably should get trainers without holes in
 - I should run with water because I am sweaty

What's gone well:
 - got out and started my training
 - warmed up properly  and didn't over stride

What to improve on:
 - consistency in pace

Thank you to my Sponsors
