I'm taking part in the DofE Trek Together - Windsor sponsored walk
I'm supporting the Duke of Edinburgh's Award by taking part in DofE Trek Together, taking on a 20 or 10 mile hike around Windsor Great Park on Sat 11th July 2026. Every penny raised will help to ensure that all young people, including those facing financial barriers and who need additional support, can have the same opportuntiy to participate in the life-changing awards scheme and transform their lives. Our first trek!
Wednesday 29th AprThis year, Callum and I are taking part in a charity walk as a team for DofE. He’s currently working towards his Duke of Edinburgh Award through the Army Cadets, and this felt like the perfect opportunity to combine his journey with something meaningful beyond the qualification — giving back.
As a mum, finding time to connect can be a challenge in the busy normality
of everyday life. This walk gives us that chance: time to talk, to support each other, and to push through something that will test us both. It’s not just about the miles we’ll cover, but about the experience we’ll share along the way.
For my son, it’s another step in building resilience, and confidence — all the things the Duke of Edinburgh programme encourages. For me, it’s about showing him that giving back matters, and that we can make a difference together, no matter how big or small the effort may seem.
We’re proud to be doing this as a team — a mum and son taking on a challenge side by side, with a shared goal of helping others.
