Running my first ever half-marathon!

I’m so excited to be taking part in the Manchester Half Marathon 2024 and prove that I can do hard things! I spent a long time not believing in myself and being to afraid to push myself and now I thrive whenever I complete a challenge like this. Whilst part of me is dreading the run, a bigger part of me is just so proud for even booking it and how far I’ve come.

Whilst running is what challenges me now it was Bronze Duke of Edinburgh that challenged me back in high school. I volunteered for Brownies, explored photography and did sailing with each activity challenging different parts of me. It was an experience that pushed me out of my comfort zone to see what I could achieve.

I want the youth to grow up believing in themselves and have the opportunity to take on challenges to explore who they want to become. So many great skills are picked up by doing DofE, and it's inspiring to see the charity's work to empower a diverse, confident generation.
