I’m fundraising for The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award

I'm taking part in the DofE Do it 4 Youth Step Challenge walking, running or wheeling 120 miles throughout March, raising vital funds for the DofE charity more young people facing financial barriers can access the life-chanding Awards programme and transform their lives.  Please support me by sponsoring as much as you can.

basic map reading skills day in the hills

Monday 31st Mar
spent Saturday on a basic map reading taster day. i was able to pick some great skills through out the day, a slow pace day but lots of chances to learn about my surroundings, finding 8 figure grid references. mega day

Sunday was a rest day but I definitely enjoyed my slow morning, 
although I only logged part of my walk the picture certainly make up for it

First weekend of the challenge, started out with van camp out in leek. With a day spent on the water learning all means of rescue. open water rescue training completed, starting the month of with my favourite method of movement, paddle boarding!

120 miles !!

Tuesday 25th Feb
Throughout the month of March, I will be challenging myself to complete 120 miles, walk, run, hike or cycle!
this will include chilly early morning bike rides to work ! 
Hiking to add my miles to achieving my hill and moorland qualification, working towards mountain leader! This I hope to use to take our school students out on expeditions! 

Would be really grateful  for any donations, to go to DofE, which within our school the interest keeps on growing each year! The DofE gives our students access to the great outdoors and much more!
