DofE Wing Walk 2024
On Thursday 25th July I am taking on the challenge of a lifetime when I will be wing-walking to raise money for the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award to help transform the lives of young people. I will be standing on a 1940s biplane as it flies over the Gloucestershire countryside, cheered on by my family and friends and the DoE squad.
Every year, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award inspires hundreds of thousands of young people – from all walks of life – to develop skills, resilience, and self-belief. It helps them take on their own challenges, follow their passions, make a difference to their communities, and discover talents they never knew they had.
Originally launched in February 1956 by HRH Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award now supports over 500,000 young people offering them a chance to learn new skills, overcome obstacles and build confidence and resilience.
More young people than ever started their Duke of Edinburgh’s Award in 2022/23 and over the next five years the DoE wants to offer more than one million young people the chance to participate in life-changing programmes.
