I’m fundraising for The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award

I'm taking part in the DofE Do it 4 Youth Challenge by walking, running or wheeling 120 miles throughout March, raising vital funds for the DofE charity to enable more young people facing financial barriers  to access the life-changing Awards programme.  Please support me or our team with as as much as you can.

My Updates

Weekend Walks

Monday 10th Mar
It's been such a sunny weekend, on Saturday I managed to do some walks around a National Trust property called Charlecote Park (where wild deer roam), then went for a walk around St Nicholas' Park in Warwick followed by ice-cream! The following day involved lots of walking around Warwick University campus for their annual science festival. All in all I covered just over 13 miles!

Treadmill Turmoil

Thursday 6th Mar
Yesterday I did an early morning gym session (a new habit for me!) which includes 20 mins of interval training, adding a few more miles to the tracker. I also managed to get outside not once, but twice for a walk around my local area...good to mix it up with this challenge and see what activities can count towards the total! Rewarded myself with a well earned carvey in the evening!

Soggy Socks

Tuesday 4th Mar
Yesterday's lunchtime walk allowed me to get outside the house with Kieron in tow! We headed down to some beautiful fields nearby home to do a circular walk around Studley, the field gate area has been flooded for some time but we weren't going to give up that easy...how hard can it be to cross?! Armed with just our normal trainers (instead of our waterproof walking boots!) we attempted to cross the strategically placed branches (with Kieron offering to go first, what a gent!)....he then promptly fell in the deep, cold water! Cue lots of laughing by me and a very squelchy walk back home for Kieron, back the way we came! Only 1.5 miles in the bag, but sometimes things don't always go to plan... :P

And we're off...

Monday 3rd Mar
Started the challenge by adding a total of 4 miles to the tracker by spending a Saturday walking around Harborne in Birmingham with my niece, and then a lovely riverside walk around the historic town of Evesham on the Sunday! Slow and steady....

It's arrived...

Thursday 13th Feb
Yesterday my Do It 4 Youth t-shirt and tracker arrived - excited to get going with the challenge in just 16 days time!

Who are Team Engage?

Thursday 6th Feb
Welcome to Team Engage! If you have just landed here we are hugely grateful for your support! Team Engage is made up of DofE UK staff who are part of the Engagement Team, but anyone is welcome to join - friends, family and other colleagues! We are really looking forward to taking on the Do It 4 Youth Challenge this year and supporting such a worthwhile cause, enabling young people from all over the UK to take part in the DofE and gain memories and skills that will transform their lives! We can't wait to share our journey with you, as we each aim to complete the 120 miles, whether walking, jogging, running or wheeling throughout March. Remember to check back on our progress!
