I’m fundraising for The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award

Hi, Everyone,

I'm taking part in the DofE "Do it 4" Youth Step Challenge. It involves walking or running 120 miles throughout March so that I can raise vital funds for the DofE charity.

I want to help more young people transform their lives by accessing the life-changing benefits of the DoE Awards programme.

As many of you will know, finding yourself unemployed, when still young can be soul destroying. A recent House of Commons report states that in the 3rd Qtr of 2024, there were 642,000 unemployed 16 to 24 years olds; an employment rate of only 50%.

Some 3 million, 16 to 24 year olds are economically inactive, an inactivity rate for this age group of 41 %. This is a terrible waste of young people's lives and potential.  I believe by taking on different challenges, young people like me will make a difference to our communities, rebuild our lives and raise vital funds to rebuild the lives of other young people, currently struggling with unemployment.

This is a terrible waste of young people's lives. Many have no idea how to turn their lives around, and have lost all hope.

I believe the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme like other charities can make a difference but they can't do it without our help.

I am willing to try. Will you help too?

As a well known retailer reminds us, "Every little helps."  Thank you in advance for any help you can give for this worthwhile cause.
