Running 120miles in March!

This March, I’m taking on the DofE Do It 4 Youth challenge, running 120 miles to raise vital funds so more young people facing financial barriers can access the life-changing Awards Programme that helped shape who I am today.

The DofE is so much more than a camping trip. Being part of the Youth Ambassador programme since 2017 didn’t just give me opportunities, it transformed me. I joined as someone who was anxious and full of doubt, unsure of my voice or where I fitted in. Through the experiences, challenges, and support it gave me, I gradually grew in confidence.

It pushed me beyond what I thought I was capable of, helped me find my voice, and showed me that stepping outside your comfort zone is where real growth begins. It provided me with incredible opportunities; being a VIP host at Buckingham Palace for the Gold Award Ceremonies, live interviews on Sky News, The Platinum Party at the Palace and being the only young person from Wales to be invited to the Memorial Service for the late Prince Philip.

Beyond that, it provided me with friends who were there for me in the most difficult times, who supported me through grief time and time again.

I’ve seen first-hand how powerful the transformation can be, and I want more young people to experience it for themselves.
