Sunday 23rd Mar
An amazing effort today on some difficult terrain. Determined to get to Cromer pier. Toby even ran the last 100 metres (up the slope! Mad!!)

More cake!

Sunday 23rd Mar
Nan managed to locate a really naughty bakery and get slices of cookie pie. We are determined to make it to Cromer. The weather got better through the day but is starting to cool off now so layers on.

Weybourne beach

Sunday 23rd Mar
Nan met us at Weybourne beach with more drinks and chocolate (got to keep the energy up!) That last bit was hard going. Walking on the shingle kills your legs. We are going up on the cliffs now

Cley

Sunday 23rd Mar
Have walked through Cley itself and headed towards the beach. Stop to eat lunch in the car. It’s brightening up thank goodness

Sunday 16th Mar
Tide has been way out most of the day

Determined to put in the miles

Sunday 16th Mar
It’s a different sort of walking today. Hard on the legs on sandy parts. No more straight Roman roads this is much more winding, sometimes close to the coast and sometimes having to come more inland because of the salt marshes and inlets.

Day 4

Sunday 16th Mar
Start of the Norfolk coast path today. Weather not so nice but it’s dry.

Our route for day 3

Sunday 16th Mar
Another 16+ miles

Done it!

Sunday 16th Mar
Wahoo! We’ve finished the Peddars way.

Last leg for today

Saturday 15th Mar
We met Nan at the general store (which was a complete alladins cave!) in Ringstead. Recharged with hot chocolate and cake. Also added some layers as it’s cooling off a bit now and getting close to the coast. Only a few more miles and we will have completed Peddars way

Disappointing Ford

Saturday 15th Mar
It didn’t take long to get to the Ford but there was no chance of soaking our feet in cool water, only a muddy little puddle. So we went over the bridge just for the hell of it!

Just in time for lunch

Saturday 15th Mar
Doing really well. Have covered almost 9 miles so deserve a sit down and bite to eat. We are between Great Bircham and Fring, near the Sandringham estate.

Day 3

Saturday 15th Mar
Setting off from the old trig point near great Massingham aiming to complete Peddars way today. Another chilly start but sun is out and off we go!

Getting ready for next stage

Friday 14th Mar
Nan has got the bacon ready for tomorrow’s breakfast to get us off to  a good start. In the morning we will drive back to our start point which is the trig point near Great Massingham where we finished last time. We should be able to finish Peddars way tomorrow then we can start the Norfolk coast path on Sunday. Keep looking at our page for new updates and photos

Weekend 2

Monday 10th Mar
No walking this weekend as Pete had a scout leadership weekend

Trig point at Great Massingham

Monday 3rd Mar
We put in a few extra miles to even out the stages. Today we completed 16 miles

Day2

Monday 3rd Mar

Day 1

Monday 3rd Mar

Rendezvous at the A47

Sunday 2nd Mar
Nan met us with extra drinks and treats. We sat in the car to eat our lunch and have a well earned rest. Nan will make sure we get across the A47 then it’s a pretty straight road to Castle Acre (a sign here says 2.5 miles). That’s the end of stage 2 but we are hoping to do a few extra miles to round it up to 30 and even out the distances.

Setting off on stage 2 Peddars way

Sunday 2nd Mar
Another frosty morning but sun shining so we’re off. Nan brought a book with her this morning to swap in the phone box book swap.

Stage one complete!

Saturday 1st Mar
15.5 miles completed and made it to Little Cressingham phone box

Knettishall Heath

Saturday 1st Mar
Should have been a photo here

Setting off from Knettishall Heath

Saturday 1st Mar
We set off at around 9:30 from Knettishall Heath for the first stage of our walk. It’s a frosty and foggy morning. Mum and Nan met us at the B1066 as it was very foggy there so made sure we got across safely. We encountered flooded boardwalk near the river Thet and have unfortunately filled our boots! The fog is lifting now and nice blue sky. Ban and mum will see us across the A11 then we’ll be fine to our destination, Little Cressingham

Getting prepared

Tuesday 25th Feb
Nan has let people know about our challenge today. We start on Saturday at Knettishall and do the first leg of the Peddars way. Let’s hope the weather is dry
